BSA unveiled a new helicopter to transport its tiniest patients.
The Apollo MedFlight Bell 407 helicopter is equipped with the same type of medical technology you would find in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit in a hospital.
"Helicopter transport enables us to expedite response times to nearby hospitals," saidBSA Neonatal Transport Medical Director Kelly Clements, MD.
The crew includes a NICU provider, NICU nurse, NICU respiratory therapist and a pilot.
They'll be on call around the clock.
BSA also has an airplane it uses to transport NICU patients longer distances.
